Classroom Rubric
The final product of a Problem Solving Task might be a persuasive letter, an oral debate, a digital presentation visual and auditory information, a scientific experiment, a music composition, a graphic design, etc. A classroom rubric is a rubric used to assess the details of a specific type of final product. A rubric on oral debate is an example of such a “classroom rubric.” All classroom rubrics focus on the depth of understanding the student has of the concepts and the proficiency the student shows with the craft skills and process skills of the type of product or performance being assessed. A “holistic” score, e.g., overall quality rating, of the final product or performance such as a persuasive letter or oral debate, is put into the part of the PST common rubric titled, “Creates and Disseminates Final Product.”
